Lora-jean M. Jones, a freelance choreographer, brings her unique style and energy to every production she creates for show choirs, musicals, pageants and dance companies. Her show choir choreography has been seen in a dozen states as well as Disney World and Branson. She has enjoyed adjudicating show choir competitions across the nation for over 30 years. Recently she joined the faculty at Dorian Summer Camps, Luther College. (Decorah, IA)
She also incorporates her years of teaching Theatre Production at Tidewater Community College (Virginia Beach, VA) with her dance background to produce and choreograph over two dozen high school and community musicals. Her latest endeavor was choreographing the World Premiere of the rewritten British musical, Brenda Bly Teen Detective.
Earning a BS from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse propelled her to do graduate work in all styles of dance at the prestigious American Dance Festival at Duke University. She has performed and choreographed for St. Cloud State University, both Esprit and Orchesis Modern Dance Companies and toured with L-X Ethnic Dance Company. Ms. Jones has also appeared in local and network TV commercials, exercise segments, and magazine ads.
As director of Many Ways to Praise, a community show choir based in central Minnesota, she had the opportunity to create meaningful choreography that left an eternal impact with the audience. She is also a proud 31 year veteran of Showchoir Camps of America!
