At ESHS he co-directs three curricular choirs, varsity show choir, spring musical, and JV show choir. Cal holds a Bachelor's of Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2019), and a Master's of Music in Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Omaha (2022).
