Originally from Augusta, Georgia, Tripp Carter has always enjoyed singing in choirs and vocal ensembles of all styles. His love for the arts began at a very early age, and in middle and high school choir where he sang with The Davidson Chorale. He learned how to read musical notation and fell in love with singing interesting harmonies.
As an arranger, Tripp's music is fun to sing and rewarding to learn while still maintaining accessibility for musicians of any level. Tripp is a stylistically diverse writer, having written from Classical to Contemporary in choral voicings spanning from Two Part to SATB divisi a cappella. His music has been performed by collegiate ensembles, churches, middle and high schools, and Grammy Award winning vocal groups. Recently, his arrangement of "Georgia On My Mind" was premiered at the 2022 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Southern Region Conference in Raleigh, NC to an immediate standing ovation! Tripp's music is available through Excelcia Music Publishing, Shawnee Press, and Hal Leonard through the Henry Leck Creating Artistry Choral Series.
Tripp earned his undergraduate degree in music from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida, with a focus on Vocal Performance, Composition, and Conducting. He is also a Teaching Artist with Central Florida Vocal Arts and is a proud member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Music Fraternity.
